Erin Landis Smith has a varied work experience. Erin began their career in 1998 as a Fifth Grade Teacher at Gilberstville Elementary School, where they were brought in to merge three classrooms into a new class due to overcrowding and was immediately awarded a full-time contract. In 2001 they joined HB Maynard and Co. as an Associate Graphic Artist. In 2000 they became the Head Women's Varsity Lacrosse and Field Hockey Coach at Vincentian Academy. In 2004 they joined US Lacrosse as a Senior Director, Sport Development, responsible for the national strategy for sport growth including integrated grantmaking programs, athlete development initiatives, coach and official development training and education, and inclusion efforts. Erin also held the roles of Managing Director, Education and Training and Director of Education and Training at US Lacrosse. In 2022 they joined Players Health as Director Of Education And Training.

Erin Landis Smith obtained a B.A. in Elementary Education from Grove City College between 1994 and 1998. In 2016, they earned a Coursera Course Certificate in The Science of Training Young Athletes. In 2018, they earned a Change Management Certificate from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). In 2019, they earned a Predictive Index Practitioner Certification from PI Midlantic. In 2022, they earned a Systems Thinking Certificate from eCornell.
