Gonzalo Mahou Ussia has a long and varied career in the music industry. Gonzalo began their career in 1998 as a Project Intern at McKinsey & Company. Gonzalo then moved to Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA in 2001 as a Senior Associate in Corporate Strategy. In 2002, they became International Label Manager and A&R at BMG Spain. In 2004, they were an Assistant Portfolio Manager in the Investment Office of Bank Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. (Switzerland) Ltd. In 2005, they Co-Founded and became Managing Director of MANTA RAY MUSIC LIMITED, developing and running an artist management company focused on early-stage artist development in many genres. Gonzalo then Co-Founded Handprint Corporation in 2010 and STOR.ES C/o Webavenue Betriebs Gmbh in 2012, both as an advisor. In 2021, they became an Advisor at Katastic Music and Co-Founder and Head of Business Development at Playlister Club.

Gonzalo Mahou Ussia attended Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) from 1992 to 1995. Gonzalo then went on to Babson College, graduating in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management, General. In 1998 and 1999, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for The General Course. Finally, they received their Master of Business Administration - MBA from London Business School in 2007.
