Joe Martinez

Joe Martinez serves as the Chief Development Officer at Playworks since July 2022, bringing extensive expertise in philanthropic strategy and development. Previously, Joe held the position of Director of Development - Agriculture at the National 4-H Council from March 2019 to July 2022, where leadership in philanthropic strategy contributed to revenue growth from national private sector clients. At the YMCA of the USA, Joe advanced from Senior Manager of Strategic Philanthropy & Partnerships to Director, focusing on major gifts and relationship building with institutional donors and foundations. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Director of Grant Development & Management at the YMCA of Greater Indianapolis, effectively managing a diverse portfolio of foundations and corporate prospects. Joe started the career at Girls Incorporated, leading the SMART Girls Initiative to support a large affiliate network. Educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry from Our Lady of the Lake University.
