Alyssa Liles-Amponsah has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Alyssa started as an Education Manager for in-school programs at The Urbano Project and later became a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University. Alyssa also worked as an Art Educator at Columbia Public Schools and an Associate Director of K-12 Programming at the University of Missouri. Alyssa went on to become the Associate Director of Diversity Initiatives and Community Engagement at Temple University before taking on a role as an Artist and Educator as a self-employed individual. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion at Please Touch Museum. Their roles have often revolved around education, diversity initiatives, and community engagement.
Alyssa Liles-Amponsah has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University, earned between 2001 and 2005. Alyssa then went on to complete a Master's degree in African American and African Diaspora Studies from Indiana University Bloomington from 2006 to 2008. In 2011, Alyssa pursued a Master of Education in Arts in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Additionally, they also hold another Master of Education in Arts in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
