Sebastian Mangelsen

Sebastian Mangelsen has a strong background in DevOps and software development. Their most recent position was as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Plejd, starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Benify as a DevOps Team Manager from August 2021 to January 2023, and as a DevOps Tech Lead from April 2021 to August 2021.

Before joining Benify, Sebastian worked as a Senior DevOps Developer at Zenseact from October 2020 to April 2021, and at ZENUITY as a Senior DevOps Developer from April 2020 to October 2020. Sebastian also has experience as a DevOps Architect at Semcon from November 2019 to April 2020, where they deployed a CI system for a multi-supplier safety-enabled software development project in the automotive industry.

Prior to their role at Semcon, Sebastian worked at Volvo Cars as a DevOps Architect for Infotainment from February 2018 to November 2019, where they were responsible for driving improvements in the CI infrastructure and leading DevOps/CI development. Sebastian also worked at Sigma Embedded Engineering as a Parental Leave from June 2017 to January 2018, and as a Volvo Car Corporation - CM and Tool Responsible for Infotainment from April 2016 to June 2017. In this role, they set up a Linux-based Development Environment for the Infotainment platform at Volvo Car Corporation and drove important changes in the organization.

Sebastian also has experience at Volvo Trucks as a Software Integration Engineer from January 2016 to April 2016, and at Cybercom Group as a Senior Embedded Software Consultant for Volvo Trucks Group from September 2014 to December 2015. Sebastian was responsible for developing software for the powertrain platform code base and improving the build and tool chain.

Earlier in their career, Sebastian worked at Transmode Systems AB as a Technical Team Lead from November 2012 to September 2014, where they developed, deployed, and communicated software designs and test approaches. Sebastian also served as a Software Developer at Transmode Systems AB from August 2011 to November 2012, where they were responsible for implementing new protocols and conducting testing for software subsystems handling network layers.

Sebastian Mangelsen earned a Master's degree in Electronic, Network Protocols from FH Lübeck (University of Applied Sciences) from 2005 to 2008. Prior to this, they obtained a Master craftsman degree in Electronic from Berufsfachschule Stralsund from 1999 to 2000. Mangelsen's education journey began with their completion of a Skilled Worker degree in Communication and Electronics from Berufsschule für Technik Berlin, where they studied from 1992 to 1996.
