James Tsay

James Tsay started their work experience as a Teaching Assistant at UCLA in 2001. James later became a graduate student, studying at UCLA from 2001 to 2006. After that, they joined the University of California at San Diego as a postdoctoral associate from 2006 to 2011. From 2011 to 2023, they worked at Illumina, where they held various roles including Scientist 1, Scientist 2, Senior Scientist, Staff Scientist, Senior Staff Scientist, and Associate Director of Scientific Research. In 2023, they joined Pleno Inc. as the Head of Systems Integration.

James Tsay completed their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley between 1997 and 2001. During this time, they also pursued a second Bachelor's degree in Physics. James then went on to earn a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from UCLA, where they studied from 2001 to 2006. After completing their Ph.D., James was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California at San Diego. It is unclear when they started or ended this position. Additionally, they also pursued a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles, but the specific dates of this program are unknown.
