Luis Alves

Luis Alves has extensive experience in UX/UI design and graphic design. Luis started their career in 1996 as a Graphic Designer at Business Directions Ltd, where they worked on advertising materials for Nestlé, Banco do Brasil, and Kilom. Luis then joined Siemens as a Web Designer in 2002 and later worked at Waveweb as a Graphic and Web Designer, where they were involved in projects for Siemens Portugal HQ and became the Creative Director.

In 2010, Luis joined SAPO as a Senior UI & UX Designer, where they expanded their skills to include designing mobile apps for iOS and Android. Luis worked on various projects, including Meo Remote, Sapo Tempo Widget, Auto Sapo, and Meo Wallet. In the last two years at SAPO, they were the Lead Designer for the MEO Wallet project, overseeing the production work and providing strategic design direction.

After SAPO, Luis worked as a Senior UI & UX Designer at Altice Labs, where they focused on UI and UX design for Altice web and mobile apps, as well as creating UI & UX guidelines for Middle East countries. Luis then joined Talkdesk as a Senior UI & UX Designer and later Morsum, LLC as the Lead UI/UX Designer.

Currently, Luis is working at Plex, Inc. as a Senior UX Designer, utilizing their expertise to contribute to the company's user experience design. Additionally, they have also provided UI/UX consulting services since 2019, specializing in senior product design and UX/UI expertise.

Luis Alves completed their Master's degree in Ergonomics - User experience from Faculdade de Motricidade Humana, from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Visual Design degree from IADE, studying Design and Visual Communications, General, from 1992 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, Luis Alves has also obtained three certifications. Luis received a Figma for UX Design certification and a Figma: Handing off to Developers certification from LinkedIn in March 2022. In February 2019, they obtained a Membership certificate from the Interaction Design Foundation.
