Leo Marcelo Villalba has worked in a variety of roles over the years. From 2017 to 2019, they were an Intern - Test Systems Development Asia at Maxim Integrated. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as an Electrical Engineering Instructor at Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (OIC) and Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor (OIC) at AboitizPower OIL Business Unit (Therma Marine Inc.), a Bat Surveyor at Western Ecology, and a Postgraduate Student at Universidad de Oviedo. In 2021, they became the Co-Founder of mHycro. Currently, they are a Back End Developer and Intern, ADMS Backend Engineer at Plexigrid. Leo Marcelo has also programmed data acquisition, handling, storing, and processing using Python, MySQL, and OpenDSS engine for near-real time unbalanced system power flow in low voltage distribution system advanced distribution management system (ADMS) implemented using an edge device (Raspberry Pi). As a Technical Consultant at NVN Business Consultancy Co. Ltd., they have conducted technical analysis of data obtained from market research for household appliances specifically Irons, ACUs, Monitors, and Refrigerators, and provided recommendations on minimum energy performance standards for the Philippine Energy Labelling Program (PELP) handled by Department of Energy (DOE).

Leo Marcelo Villalba has a comprehensive educational background. Leo Marcelo completed a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan in 2013-2018. In 2020-2022, they are pursuing an MSc Joint Degree in Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems (EMJMD STEPS) from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Coimbra, the Universidad de Oviedo, and the University of Nottingham. Additionally, they are taking the Data Scientist Track from DOST SPARTA ONLINE.
