Mahmoud Rashad Ahmed has been working in the field of electrical systems management since 2000. Mahmoud began their career at the Egyptian National Railway (ENR) as an Electrical Design Engineer. In 2002, they moved to the Egyptian Drilling Company as a Junior Electrical Engineer. In 2006, they joined the EMC "Egyptian Maintenance Company" - Petroleum Sector as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where they provided technical expertise for electrical equipment maintenance activities, standards and procedures in both operation and shutdown modes. In 2019, they joined the Lemur Research Group as an Academic Researcher. Currently, they are working at Plexigrid as a Software Engineer, where they develop, improves and delivers software products dedicated to the distribution system operators (DSOs) in the field of electrical systems management at the low voltage level, especially with the state estimation of the low voltage electrical networks.

Mahmoud Rashad Ahmed's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power and Machines from Assiut University (1993-1998), a Master of Science in Electrical & Control Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (2008-2014), an Erasmus+ KA107 International Credit Mobility Internship in Electrical and Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Valladolid (2019), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universidad de Oviedo (2019-2022).
