Sobit Thapa has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sobit started their career as a Faculty of Electronics and Computer Engineering at National College Of Engineering, where they taught computer programming courses and supervised research projects. Sobit then joined Yomari Information Services as a Software Engineer/Team Lead, where they led offshore teams and handled projects for clients in the USA, as well as contributed to the development of local e-governance projects in Nepal. During their time at Yomari Information Services, they also led a transformation and enhancement project for Petco, San Diego, CA, involving the migration of a legacy Business Intelligence System from Oracle technologies to IBM's Netezza Performance Server.
Following this, Sobit joined Texas State University, San Marcos as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they conducted research in Wireless Network Security, Information Security, and Sensor Networks. Sobit then interned at The MathWorks, where they implemented various components of the MATLAB on The Web product using Java and Cloud-based technologies.
After their intern, Sobit joined Alere Inc. as a Software Engineer II, where they contributed to the design and development of a highly scalable web application for healthcare application software. Sobit developed highly scalable web services and RESTful APIs using test-driven development methodologies and led a performance analysis and improvement team to enhance the quality of the product.
Next, Sobit joined Imagitas as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed, implemented, and maintained various high-volume customer-facing online products, such as moversguide.usps.com and mymove.com.
Currently, they are working at PLS Logistics Services as a Principal Software Architect, where they are responsible for leading software architecture and design initiatives.
Sobit Thapa completed their Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, IOE, Pulchowk Campus, from 2002 to 2006. Following this, they pursued a Masters Degree in Computer Science at Texas State University from 2011 to 2013. Sobit'sfield of study during both their degrees was focused on computer science.
