Chuck Carlstrom is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in fuel cell technology and development. Currently serving as Director of Fuel Cell Stack Engineering at Plug Power since September 2016, Chuck leads a team focused on designing and developing PEM fuel cell stacks with industry-leading performance metrics. Previously, Chuck held several key positions including Director of Fuel Cell Systems Engineering at Plug Power, R&D Director at Lydall, and Director of Engineering at H2 Pump LLC, where innovative solutions and advanced PEM-based systems were developed. Chuck's career includes roles at MTI MicroFuel Cells, where significant advancements in Direct Methanol Fuel Cells were made, as well as early experience at Ford Motor Company and UC Berkeley. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
