Kevin Mease has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over three decades. Kevin is currently working as the Manager of Stack Engineering at Plug Power since February 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Systems Integration Leader - Renewable/Hybrids - Energy Storage at GE Renewable Energy from January 2020 to February 2021.
From 2010 to 2019, Kevin worked for GE in various roles. Kevin started as a Steam Turbine Systems Integration Leader and held this position until November 2016. From November 2016 to December 2019, they served as a Senior Engineer in the Steam Turbine Life Cycle Reliability - Power Services team.
Kevin's work experience also includes a significant tenure at Plug Power from 1999 to 2008. During this time, they held several key positions, including Senior Mechanical Engineer. Kevin was involved in various aspects of fuel cell product components and systems, from design and development to testing and cost reduction. Kevin led mechanical engineering and CAD design teams and implemented innovative solutions for fuel cell plate and gasket performance and manufacturing design.
Before joining Plug Power, Kevin worked at General Electric - Power Generation in Schenectady from 1991 to 1998. During this period, they held positions such as Lead Professional Mechanical Design Engineer and Professional Mechanical Design Engineer. Kevin played a vital role in the launch of new products and complete redesigns in the Power Generation sector.
Kevin's early career experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Propulsion Engineering Research Center (Penn State) from 1989 to 1991, where they focused on developing control algorithms for active magnetic bearings. Kevin also worked as a Student Designer at the Applied Research Laboratory (Penn State) in 1989, where they designed and fabricated a prototype vibration system for the Hershey Corporation.
In 1987, Kevin had an internship as a Student Intern in Meteorology at the National Weather Service in Silver Spring, MD. During this time, they wrote computer programs and designed map backgrounds for a computer-worded forecast program.

Kevin Mease attended Penn State University from 1984 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Kevin later pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, completing their degree between 1989 and 1991. Additionally, Kevin participated in the Edison Engineering Program at GE from 1991 to 1993, where they took advanced courses in the fields of study, specifically Advanced Courses A and B.
