Roman Yakobov

Roman Yakobov has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Roman currently holds the position of Engineering Manager (Batteries) at Plug Power since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Battery Lead Engineer at Plug Power from November 2021 to May 2023.

Before joining Plug Power, Roman worked at Urban Electric Power as a Product and Battery Engineer from June 2018 to August 2021.

Roman's early career involved research and development work at City University of New York City College. Roman served as a Research Project Manager in the Atherosclerosis Laboratory under the guidance of Prof. David Rumschitzki from September 2012 to January 2018. In this role, they led and managed a team of 8 students, trained and supervised over 20 undergraduate and graduate students, and played a significant role in developing and executing the research approach.

Additionally, Roman gained experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at City University of New York City College from May 2012 to September 2012.

During their time at CUNY Energy Institute, Roman worked as a Graduate Research Assistant/Lab Technician from March 2015 to January 2017.
