Before joining Plug Power, Thomas worked at Frames for several years. From October 2017 to March 2022, they served as a Product Specialist and Lead Link, overseeing the full lifecycle of various energy systems products. Thomas managed resources in sales, engineering, and project execution while reporting directly to the board of directors.

Prior to their role as Product Specialist and Lead Link, Thomas worked as a Product Manager at Frames from January 2016 to September 2017. Thomas led a dedicated team in selling, designing, manufacturing, and testing Safety Instrumented Systems tailored to client needs. Thomas also has experience as a Sales Engineer and a Project Manager at Frames, where they worked on various safety instrumented and control systems.

Thomas began their career as a student at Hogeschool INHOLLAND, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering. During this time, they also completed a minor in Lightweight Constructions and achieved good results. Additionally, they set a benchmark for project design by designing and constructing a human-powered hydrofoil in a 10-week period.

Thomas gained further experience as a Student Design Engineer at Marshall Aerospace in 2009, where they worked on a conceptual design for a Fokker 50 Large Cargo Door. Thomas also interned at DutchAero BV, where they focused on evaluating and optimizing the manufacturing process of Sheet Metal Components for aerospace structures.

Outside of their professional endeavors, Thomas has held leadership roles. Thomas served as a Board Member at Delftse Studentenvereniging Sint Jansbrug, a non-profit student society, and as Vice-Chairman at ZeeZeilRace, the Netherlands' largest student sea sailing regatta.

Thomas de Wolf has a diverse education history with a focus on engineering, project management, and business administration. Starting in 1995, they attended Stedelijk Gymnasium Apeldoorn for their secondary education. Following this, in 2001, they attended the College of Southern Idaho, where they studied English, Philosophy, and Photography for a year.

In 2002, Thomas enrolled at Delft University of Technology, where they pursued a degree in Aerospace Engineering, completing 100 ECTS. Thomas then continued their education at Inholland University of Applied Sciences from 2007 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical Engineering with a minor in Lightweight Construction.

In 2010, Thomas attended Avans University of Applied Sciences, where they attained a Post-bachelor degree in Project Management. The following year, in 2011, they obtained a certification as a Functional Safety Engineer from Honeywell BV. Additionally, in 2012, they received further accreditation from TUV Rheinland for their expertise in Functional Safety Engineering.

Thomas expanded their knowledge in 2015-2016 when they attended SUAS - A Schouten & Nelissen Company to study Organizational Leadership. In 2017, they participated in a Scrum Master training program provided by ICM opleidingen & trainingen.

To enhance their business acumen, Thomas enrolled in the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in 2022, pursuing an Executive MBA with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. This program is expected to conclude in 2023, consolidating their educational journey.
