Roeland Nusselder has a diverse work experience in various industries. In 2015, they interned at Nafora SA, a trading startup in Switzerland, where they researched and implemented trading strategies using statistics and machine learning techniques. From 2016 to 2017, they interned at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, a national research institute in the Netherlands, where they presented their preliminary results at NIPS 2016 Computing with Spikes workshop and published two research papers. In 2017, they became a cohort member at Entrepreneur First. Finally, in 2017, they co-founded Plumerai, a company focused on making deep learning more efficient for small and low-power hardware. As the CEO, they led the development of AI technology for edge devices.
Roeland Nusselder has a strong educational background in the field of Mathematics and Physics. Roeland completed their high school studies at Stedelijk Gymnasium Haarlem from 2004 to 2010, focusing on VWO (N&T and N&G) subjects. In 2011, they enrolled at Utrecht University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, which they successfully obtained in 2014. During their undergraduate studies, they also pursued a second Bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy, concurrently with their Mathematics degree. In 2014, Roeland Nusselder had the opportunity to attend an exchange semester at the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied Mathematics and Physics. Building upon their undergraduate achievements, they continued their education at Utrecht University and obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics in 2017.
