Kalimar Maia

Kalimar Maia has worked in a variety of roles since 2004. From 2004-2005, they were the Owner of Maia Cuisine - Personal Chef, where they wrote and implemented the business plan for a small business specializing in meal replacement, cooking parties, small parties and cooking classes. In 2005, they worked as a Marketing Associate at Sysco Food Service of Baltimore, where they were considered one of the top rookie marketing executives and secured $50,000 in weekly sales. From 2007-2009, they were the Managing Partner of Millennium English Company Ltda, where they were invited to be president of Junior Chamber of Commerce of town and learned the significance that a country's culture plays in business. During this time, they also worked as an Independent Consultant, researching the viability of a Barter Exchange (Alternative Currency) in Brazil. From 2009-2011, they were the Sales and Marketing Manager and IT Consultant for A & H Gourmet and Seafood Market, where they played a key role in increasing overall sales from $3.0 Million to approximately $4. In 2011, they worked as Web Manager for Spanishfeast.com. From 2014-2017, they were a Software Engineer for CustomInk, where they worked tightly with their product design team to iterate and build user facing tools. From 2017-2020, they worked as a Sales Engineer for Mapbox, responsible for partnering with account executives to close business opportunities, providing the technical know-how for customers, and the voice-of-the-customer pipeline. Kalimar is currently a Business Lead and System Developer for Pluribus Digital.

Kalimar Maia's education history includes a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mathematical Biology from Virginia Tech between 1999 and 2000, a Bachelor of Science - BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech between 1994 and 1999, a Technical degree in Culinary Arts from L'Academie de Cuisine between 2002 and 2003, and schooling at Escola das Nações and Brookhaven Elementary School. Kalimar Maia has also obtained certifications in Leading Complex Projects from IDEO U in May 2022, Scaled Agile Certified SAFe 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in April 2022, Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2021, and Trusted Tester (Section 508 Compliance Testing) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in August 2020.
