Cloud Engineer

LOCATION: Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV)

CITIZENSHIP: U.S. Citizen

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop automation and leverage DevSecOps tooling to deploy and integrate solutions, monitor system health
  • Troubleshoot system problems
  • Interface with other parts of the team for infrastructure support (DNS, Authentication (AD, LDAP), and Authorization)
  • Provide after-hours on-call/call-in support on a rotational basis
  • Ensure system security requirements are satisfied
  • Create/maintain system scripts, patch/upgrade system
  • Participate within an DevSecOps team to sustain a multi-domain mission critical system
  • Execute automated deployment strategies for cloud account provisioning and resource requirements
  • Execute automated deployment strategies for secure and approved operating system Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) and Identity & Access management (IAM) resources
  • Evaluate and modify code automation for deploying and operating production services 
  • Document SOPs for operational requirements
  • Provide customer support for cloud application owners
  • Troubleshoot issues within the cloud layer 
  • DevSecOps Tool Integration:
    • Guide integration of various tools for the DevSecOps process (GITLAB/GITHUB, SonarQube, Jenkins, Selenium, Artifactory, etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Specific degree/education and years of experience are dependent on unique contract requirements

  • 4-20 years of Information Technology related experience (less than 4 years would be considered for a Junior role)
  • Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related technical discipline degree
  • Current technical certification in at least 1 discipline (Required)
  • Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or civilian Federal Government Agencies experience
  • Understanding of broad IT topics such as 
  • Basic understanding of an Object-Oriented Programming Language, preferably Java
  • Web Services
  • Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • cloud (compute, services, storage, app development, etc.), 
  • networking, security (cyber, network, cloud, application, etc.), 
  • storage, 
  • compute, 
  • software development (code and methodologies), 
  • system/application governance, 
  • data (management, analytics)
  • Knowledge of analytical needs and requirements, query syntax, data flows, and traffic manipulatioDesired Experience:
    • 4 to 10 Years of experience with cloud services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
    • 4 to 6 Years of experience with cloud services and DevSecOps tools
    • 4 to 6 Years of experience with developing, deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting cloud-based software solutions
    • Experience with cross domain systems
    • Demonstrated knowledge of analytical needs and requirements, query syntax, data flows, and traffic manipulation.
    • 4 to 6 Years of experience/understanding of PKI, SSL, and related encryption technologies.
    • 4 to 6 Years of experience with NiFi, HA Proxy, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift, and ElasticSearch
    • 4 to 6 Years of experience with Certification & Authorization processes (i.e., NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)800-37, 800-53)
