Sam Watson is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in sports data analytics and consultancy. Currently serving as the Head of Data Science at Pluto Data Analytics since September 2022, Sam previously held the role of Chief Data Officer at Sports4Cast from September 2019 to March 2024, where responsibilities included data ingestion, storage, processing, and predictions across various sports. Prior experiences include Principal Data Scientist at Spotlight Sports Group, where Sam led teams in developing predictive models for American sports and horse racing, and Data Scientist at Opensignal, focusing on mobile network performance metrics. Sam's academic background includes a Master's degree in Policy Analytics and a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Economics, both from the University of Exeter, along with early internships in data science and analytics.
