Matthew McDaniel has had a diverse range of work experiences. Matthew started their career in 2001 as a Visiting Lecturer at the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing. In 2003, they worked as an Office Assistant - Business Analysis at Siemens USA.

Matthew then moved on to Yahoo Movies in 2004, where they served as the Managing Editor. During their time there, they were responsible for producing highly successful content that generated billions of page views and millions of video plays annually. Additionally, they managed a team of in-house and freelance content producers, and led studio partnerships for securing, scheduling, and promoting exclusive video content.

In 2014, Matthew joined Hallmark Labs, LLC as the Director of Programming. Matthew developed a comprehensive content strategy that significantly increased viewership by 1100% in just 20 months. Matthew also served as the Editor in Chief for the website and various devices, and coordinated a successful rebranding effort from the previous identity of "FEELN" in collaboration with the product and marketing teams.

Most recently, Matthew was the Senior Director of Programming at Pluto TV, starting in 2018. In this role, they managed a team of 17 editors and was responsible for programming 147 linear video channels. Matthew also led the VOD section, which experienced a 400% growth in monthly TVMs within two years. Additionally, they were involved in ideating new channels, content strategies, and topical programming stunts.

Matthew McDaniel completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Theatre/Theater at Indiana University Bloomington from 1994 to 1998.
