Hugo Plácido da Silva

Hugo Plácido da Silva has a diverse work experience in academia and research. Hugo started as a Researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações in 2004 and later became the Chief Operating Officer at PLUX in 2007. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Chief Innovation Officer at PLUX and also joined Instituto de Telecomunicações as a Researcher. In 2019, they became an Invited Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico. Additionally, they hold the position of Vice Chair at IEEE EMBS Portugal Chapter since 2022.

Hugo Plácido da Silva completed their Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal from 1998 to 2004. Hugo then pursued their Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico from 2004 to 2007. Subsequently, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institute between 2010 and 2015.
