Ram Patel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in healthcare market research and marketing management. Since November 2001, Ram has served as the Managing Director of Brainsell Ltd, a consultancy that emphasizes innovative research methodologies tailored to business needs. In addition, Ram has been a Committee Member and Market Research Adviser for the PM Society since March 2006, contributing to the promotion of marketing excellence in healthcare and life sciences. Previous roles include Marketing Consultant at Doctorsworld, Product/Brand/Marketing Manager at BMJ, Research/Marketing Manager at Black Box, and Research Assistant at BMRB. Ram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from The University of Manchester and completed education at Loughborough Grammar School.

PM Society

The PM Society was established over 40 years ago as a not-for-profit organisation to serve the needs of the pharmaceutical industry and its service agencies. It currently has over 230 UK companies as members, including pharma and biotech companies on the industry side and PR, Advertising, Medical Communications, Digital and many other kinds of service company on the agency side. It is run by a voluntary Executive Committee, and supported by a small office staff. The Executive steers the direction of the Society in conjunction with the wider Committee of industry professionals, and works hard to forge close working relationships with other industry and NHS groups, including the ABPI, HCA and TOPRA, for the benefit of its membership. The Society has Interest Groups aligned to the current challenges and issues facing today’s marketers - Market Access, Digital, Patient Engagement, Industry Agency Relations, Sustainability, and Diversity - these are run by experts in the field, and run alongside the two highly regarded Award schemes – the PM Society Awards and the Digital Awards. The PM Society’s flexible modular training programme is developed by the industry for the industry and addresses the specific training needs for pharmaceutical marketing and associated life sciences disciplines. Courses run throughout the year and are tailored for those new to marketing, anyone needing a refresher and advanced modules for the more experienced marketer.
