Alex Aleksishvili

CEO and Chairman at PMCG - Policy and Management Consulting Group

Alex Aleksishvili has held various roles in different organizations throughout their career. Alex began in 2005 as the Chairman of the United Nations Commission for Sustainable Development (CSD), where they served until 2006. In the same year, they became the Minister of Finance of Georgia, leading and managing all state fiscal institutions. During their time at the Ministry of Finance, they implemented significant reforms and initiatives, including the enforcement process of a new Tax Code and the introduction of a Medium Term Macro Framework (MTMF).

In 2008, Alex Aleksishvili took on multiple roles and responsibilities. Alex became the Chairman and CEO of PMCG - Policy and Management Consulting Group, a company they continue to lead. Alex also joined the International Chamber of Commerce in Georgia as a Member of the Executive Board and served as the First Vice-Chair until 2020. Additionally, they became a Board Member of the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University and Kala Capital LLC, where they supervised the establishment of Progress Bank JSC.

In 2014, Alex Aleksishvili became a Board Member of the International Monetary Fund's Caucasus and Central Asia Advisory Group (CCAG). Furthermore, in 2019, they joined MAC Georgia as a Board Member.

More recently, in 2022, they took on new roles as the Vice President - Elect, Programs at the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management and as a Member of the Supervisory Board at the EaP European School.

With a diverse range of experiences and leadership positions, Alex Aleksishvili has made significant contributions to various organizations and sectors throughout their career.

Alex Aleksishvili has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Development Policy with a major in Public Finances and Management from Duke University. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Economics from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, from 1991 to 1996.
