Douglas Edwards Sr., CPM, PMP, serves as the Co-Chair of PMI Mentoring Emeritus for PMI Metrolina since February 2015, focusing on mentoring initiatives and community outreach to engage the Millennial age group. In conjunction with this role, Douglas has been a Project Manager at the NYC Department of Sanitation since March 2016, where responsibilities include program and project management in Facilities Planning and Engineering. Prior experience includes a decade as a self-employed consultant with The Edwards Group, providing strategic business development in the financial services and non-profit sectors, and a tenure as Construction Project Manager at the NYC Department of Sanitation from 1990 to 1999, overseeing significant infrastructure projects. Education was completed at The City University of New York.

PMI Metrolina Chapter Inc. is a not for profit corporation that was founded in 1985. We currently have a membership of more than 1300 members. Over the years we have established well known and respected training programs in the area of project management and especially in the area of preparation for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) exam.Since its inception, the Chapter has provided a platform for monthly gatherings, where people of the project management profession can exchange views and network with other professionals.Our educational programs help members and non-members to expand their knowledge of and acquire expertise in the field of project management. The chapter's educational programs qualify for professional development units (PDUs) required to satisfy the continuing certification requirements for maintaining certification as a Project management Professional (PMP®).
