Samuel Thomas, MD, MSc has been involved in a variety of medical roles since 2011. Samuel began their career as a Graduate Research Associate at the University of Utah School of Medicine, followed by a role as Co President of the AMA MSS chapter at the University of Utah. In 2014, they became a Co-Founder of RefloDx LLC and a voting Member of the Board of Trustees for the Utah Medical Association (UMA). Samuel then served as an Internal Medicine Resident at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics from 2016-2019. During this time, they also held a Postdoctoral Fellow position at the Intermountain Healthcare Delivery Institute. In 2019, they became a Population Health and Delivery Science Fellow at Stanford Health Care, as well as a Clinical Instructor at Stanford University School of Medicine. In 2020, they took on the role of Medical Director Operations, Principle | Department of Innovation at Blue Shield of California, and in 2021 they became Co-Founder and Head of Healthcare Innovation at PocketRN.

Samuel Thomas, MD, MSc completed their education history with a Master of Science Degree in Health Policy from Stanford University School of Medicine from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine from 2011 to 2016. In addition, they obtained a Master in Bioengineering from the University of Utah College of Engineering from 2014 to 2015. Samuel also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Russian Language and Literature and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Utah from 2007 to 2011, as well as a Minor in Chemistry from the same university.
