Viet Dang

Viet Dang is an engineer at Pod Foods. Viet previously worked as a full stack developer at Shock Media Group from April 2014 to June 2017. While at Shock Media Group, Viet was responsible for building a content delivery network (clicklion.com) as a core team member.

Some of Viet's technical challenges included scraping articles from any website and extracting their metadata, such as title, body content, and images, using smart, self-developed algorithms. Viet also built a machine learning cluster to analyze millions of articles, web pages, and user behaviors to calculate a "relevance score" for the current visitor and the article corpus.

In addition to their technical challenges, Viet also developed an algorithm to score and recommend the highest-scored articles to visitors, which considered factors such as article budget, current CTR, relevance score, historical stats, etc. Viet also built a fully-featured management system for end-users, including advertisers and publishers. Advertisers could manage their campaigns budget, automatically-collected articles, manually-uploaded articles, and targeting options. Publishers could manage their websites (domains) and ad widgets. The management system also supported rich reports interface with multiple metrics, such as clicks, pageviews, CTR, CPC, and estimated earnings.

Finally, Viet built several magazine websites for performance testing. Their technology stack included MongoDB, Redis, Ruby on Rails, Foundation, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, Apache Spark, and Go.

Viet Dang graduated from Vietnam National University, Hanoi with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
