John Hammontree

John Hammontree is an experienced media professional with a diverse background in podcast production, journalism, and communications strategy. Currently serving as the Head of Podcasting at AL.com and Senior Producer for the CNN podcast "Downside Up," John has a proven track record in developing successful audio content. Previously, John launched Reckon Radio at Alabama Media Group, produced award-winning narrative series, and co-founded Reckon, where leadership spanned investigative news coverage and multimedia projects. Additional career highlights include strategic roles at Text100, Seven Design, and VOX Global, along with foundational experience as a paralegal. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Alabama.
