Andrew Manning is an accomplished researcher and educator with extensive experience in the field of biochemistry. Currently serving as the Institutional Research Director at the POET Bioproducts Center since November 2018, Andrew has previously held roles as a Senior Scientist and Research Scientist within the same organization. Prior experience includes supervising QA/QC laboratories at Novita Nutrition and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Chicago. Andrew's doctoral research at Duke University focused on outer membrane vesiculation and its implications in bacterial defense mechanisms. Additional roles throughout Andrew's academic journey include teaching assistantship at Duke University, leadership positions at the University of Minnesota's CBS Student Board, and undergraduate research assistantship in enzymatic characterization and biosynthetic pathway development. Andrew holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Duke University and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Minnesota.
