Principal Engineer at POET Technologies

Jun Zhang has accumulated a strong background in the field of optical engineering, with experience in various roles and companies. At POET Technologies, Jun worked as the Principal Engineer, designing and developing measurement systems for optical products and circuits. Notably, Jun designed and built a test station for laser and silicon waveguide beam profile characterization. Prior to this, Jun served as a Senior Optical Engineer at JPT electronics, where they worked on developing laser processing machines and optical test equipment. They were responsible for the design and evaluation of optical systems, as well as conducting experiments and failure analysis. Jun's previous experience includes roles as a Principal Engineer at Denselight Semiconductor, where they focused on designing and setting up test systems for Fiber Optical Gyroscope projects, and as a Senior R&D Engineer at JDSU, where they worked on optical transceiver product development and testing. In their earlier career, Jun gained research experience as a Researcher at the Research Institute and Chemistry of Physics (RIKEN) and as a Research Engineer at Quantum-Optical Information Technology Group, Tohoku University, where they focused on quantum optics and quantum information technology research and development. Overall, Jun has demonstrated expertise in various aspects of optical engineering, from system design and development to testing and research.

Jun Zhang completed a Master's Degree in Science & Technology with a specialization in Laser and Optical Engineering from Shanxi University between 1992 and 1995. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1992, Jun Zhang attended Sichuan University and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) with a focus on Optics/Optical Sciences. There is no information available about any other educational experiences that Jun Zhang may have had outside of these two universities.
