Przemek Kunka

Przemek Kunka has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of data engineering, management, and strategy. Przemek is currently serving as the Director of Data Engineering, Management, and Strategy at Points. Prior to this role, they worked at Sun Life as the Director (acting) of Data Science and Innovation, where they also held the position of Manager of Data Strategy and Data Product Enablement.

Before joining Sun Life, Przemek held the position of VP and Head of Technology and Engineering at aha insurance. Przemek also worked at Sun Life Financial as a Manager of Reporting & Analytics.

At BlackBerry, Przemek held various roles such as Senior Data Architect, Analytics Solution Architect, Data Stewardship Manager, Business/Technology Analyst, and Technical Trainer.

Throughout their career, Przemek has been responsible for leading teams, developing data and analytics platforms, designing and architecting solutions, and evaluating technology tools to support data analysis and development.

Przemek Kunka earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics and Computer Science from Wilfrid Laurier University between 1999 and 2003. In 2009, they enrolled in the University of Waterloo and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy, which is still in progress.

In addition to their formal education, Przemek has obtained a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2020.
