Kiel Safstrom has a diverse work experience in the field of software testing and quality assurance. Kiel started their career in 2010 as a Level Designer at Insidious Studios, where they worked on a 3rd person Action/Survival Shooter game called Asylum. In 2011, they joined Tribeca Flashpoint College as a Lead Designer, leading a design team in developing a turn-based retail product for the Windows 7 operating system.

From 2011 to 2013, Kiel worked at GameStop as a Senior Game Advisor, where they interacted with customers, provided product recommendations, and promoted the used video game trade-in program.
