Lena Doubivko

Associate Content Manager at The Pokémon Company International

Lena Doubivko has extensive work experience in various roles. Lena began their career in 2000 as a Database Manager at STEMCELL Technologies. From 2001 to 2011, they worked as a Teaching Associate at the University of British Columbia and the University of Washington. Lena then served as the Director of the STARTALK Program at the University of Washington from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they became an Assistant Professor (limited term) at UBC. In 2014, they worked as a Media Literacy Program Manager and Educator as an Independent Contractor. Since 2015, they have been employed at The Pokémon Company International, starting as a Localization Editor and progressing to the roles of Localization Editor II and Localization Editor III. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Content Manager at the company.

Lena Doubivko holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Slavic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from the University of Washington, which they attained from 2008 to 2013. In 2011, they also earned a Startalk Certificate in "Preparing Teachers for the 21st Century" from the same university, specializing in STARTALK best practices in language teaching and curriculum development. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Germanic Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics from The University of British Columbia from 2006 to 2008. Lena'sundergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations and Affairs, also from The University of British Columbia, from 2004 to 2006.
