Steve Okimoto has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. Steve started their career as a Systems Engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplane Company in 1987, where they focused on system level design and coordination for the Fuel Management and Quantity Systems of the 747 aircraft.

In 1991, Steve joined Nintendo of America as a Project Engineer, responsible for internal projects such as hardware development kits and retail merchandising displays for the Game Boy. Steve then transitioned to the role of Software Engineer, working on software development support for Nintendo platforms. Steve eventually became the Software Engineering Manager, leading a team of software engineers and overseeing third-party software development for Nintendo64, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Color. Steve also played a role in advising developers and publishers on technical issues and delivering presentations at Nintendo Developer Conferences.

Steve worked at Nintendo until 2015, during which they held the position of Senior Manager, Developer Relations, and Developer Relations Manager.

In 2016, Steve joined The Pokémon Company International as a Technical Project Manager, where they focused on technical projects for the Digital Marketing team. Their responsibilities included SCRUM, Agile Product Owner, technical communication, and project management.

Throughout their career, Steve has gained significant experience in project management, technical communication, software engineering, and developer relations.

Steve Okimoto completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Steve then pursued further education in Project Management through the Professional & Continuing Education program at the University of Washington from 2016 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Steve obtained certifications such as Google Universal Analytics Essential Training from LinkedIn in August 2023 and became a Certified ScrumMaster through the Scrum Alliance in July 2019.
