Vesa Ahonen

Vesa Ahonen has a diverse work experience, spanning over two decades. Vesa currently holds the position of Director of Security and Privacy at Polar Electro Oy since June 2021. Prior to this, from April 2016 to June 2021, they served as the Director, CISO & DPO at Inmics Oy. Vesa also worked as the Head of ICT (CIO) at Keskisuomalainen Oyj from January 2011 to February 2016. During their part-time entrepreneurship from 2007 to 2012, Vesa worked as an ICT & Security Consultant. Before that, they held the role of ICT & Security Manager at Metso from April 2001 to January 2011, and as a Communication Technology Specialist at Tieto from May 1998 to March 2001.

Vesa Ahonen has a diverse education history. Vesa attended the University of Jyväskylä, where they studied Information Technology from an unspecified year until 1998. Prior to that, they completed an Associate's Degree in Information Technology at a Commercial Institute, graduating in 1996. Vesa also obtained an Associate's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the same Commercial Institute in 1991. Vesa's educational journey started with their High School education, which they completed in a College with a focus on Mathematics in 1987.

In addition to their formal education, Vesa has obtained several certifications. Vesa earned an ISO 27001 Foundation - Information Security Certification from Kiwa Inspecta in an unspecified year in 2017. In 2016, they also obtained an ISO 20000 Foundation - IT Service Certification from the same institution. Furthermore, Vesa holds certification in ITIL from itSMF, acquired in 2005.
