Eugene Butan is Founder at Polare and has expertise in multidisciplinary R&D across CAD/CAM, complex infrastructure modelling and optimisation, computer science and engineering software design, system integration and wireless communication technologies. They previously led platform development for a machine learning platform to prevent transaction fraud as Platforms Lead at Barclaycard (2017–2022), served as Head of DevOps at Marionete (2022–2024), and held roles including Senior Research Fellow at Cranfield University (2012–2015), Senior Automation Architect at Interoute (2016–2017), and Chief Testing Systems Engineer at Mikrotik (2005–2006). They earned a Master’s degree in Computer Aided Design of Gear Shaper Cutters and a PhD in multi-objective optimisation from Cranfield University.
