Orestis Gkorgkas

Orestis Gkorgkas is a seasoned technical leader in data engineering, currently serving as the Technical Team Lead at Polaris Media ASA since November 2022. Previously, Orestis held roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Sikt, contributing significantly to the development of a REST API with serverless technologies, and designing a DynamoDB-based database. Orestis has experience as a Software Developer at both Bouvet ASA and Sikt, where contributions included developing services for bibliographical works and cloud-based entity registries. Orestis also worked at Mito.ai, focusing on multilingual news-text analysis, and held a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at NTNU, researching spatio-temporal textual search. Orestis obtained a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the National Technical University of Athens in 2009.
