Eric Van Rumund has over 20 years of work experience in various industries. Eric started their career as a Cable Technician at 1 Source Electrical and Communications in 2000 and worked there until 2002. Eric then joined Teamwork Athletic Apparel as a Customer Service Administrative Support from 2002 to 2007. In 2009, Eric started their own business, Element Pool & Spa, where they served as the Owner and Pool Service Technician for over a decade until 2020. In February 2020, they joined Polaris Pharmaceuticals as an Associate Manager in Clinical Finance and Contracts.
Eric Van Rumund began their education at California College San Diego in 2018, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Business Management and Accounting. Eric continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Business Administration and Management, General in 2020. In March 2019, Eric also received the Microsoft Office Specialist Master 2016 certification from Microsoft.

Polaris Group, a privately held multinational biopharmaceutical drug company, specializes in the research and development of protein drugs to treat cancer and other debilitating diseases in humans. Polaris' lead project is ADI-PEG 20, a biotherapeutic agent that is in advanced clinical development for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma and metastatic melanoma. Polaris is collaborating with EnzymeRx in the development of Uricase-PEG 20 for the treatment of gout, tumor lysis syndrome, and other diseases related to hyperuricemia. Polaris is also researching and developing other biotherapeutic agents and has a small molecule drug program. The latter utilizes a rational structure-based approach for the design of novel compounds that inhibit the biological function of cancer-related protein targets.
