Associate Clinical Scientist at Polaris Pharmaceuticals

Tanja Nielsen, Dr. rer. nat., has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and institutions. Tanja is currently working as an Associate Clinical Scientist at Polaris Pharmaceuticals since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sanford Burnham Prebys from April 2022 to January 2023. Tanja also served as a Ph.D. candidate during their time at Sanford Burnham Prebys from February 2019 to May 2022.

Before joining Sanford Burnham Prebys, Tanja worked as a Ph.D. candidate at Charité, University Medicine Berlin, Cardiovascular genetics from January 2017 to January 2019. Tanja also had a brief trainee position at Karolinska institutet, Astrid Lindgrens Barnjukhus, Stem cell research in May and July 2016.

Tanja'searlier experiences include working as an Undergraduate Researcher at Hannover Medical School from October 2015 to April 2016, and as a Student Tutor and Undergraduate Researcher at Hannover Medical School from October 2013 to August 2015, with a brief research role from July to October 2014.

Tanja Nielsen, Dr. rer. nat., has a strong educational background in the field of biomedical research. Tanja pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from Leibniz Universität Hannover from 2011 to 2014. Following this, they completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover between 2014 and 2016. Tanja then furthered their studies at Freie Universität Berlin where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Research, which they pursued from 2017 to 2022.

In addition to their academic accomplishments, Tanja Nielsen has also obtained relevant certifications. In April 2015, they obtained a German State certificate according to §15 GenTSV, demonstrating their expertise in handling laboratory animals in accordance with TierSchG §9. Tanja also has a certification in Good Clinical Practice, which they obtained from the NIDA Clinical Coordinating Center and NIDA Clinical Trials Network in February 2023.
