Chiel Peters

Chiel Peters is currently the Co-Founder of Polars, a lightning-fast DataFrame library and in-memory query engine known for its parallel execution and cache efficient algorithms. Previously, Chiel held roles such as Principal Machine Learning Engineer and CTO at Xomnia, a leading Dutch big data company. Prior to that, Chiel worked as a Senior Consultant at RiskQuest, a consultancy firm specialized in risk models for the financial sector. Additionally, Chiel has experience as an Intern at Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica, where Chiel performed research on domain-specific languages in the financial world. Chiel holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Amsterdam, along with various other degrees in Econometrics and Machine Learning.
