Rafael Ángel Orihuela Cordero

Rafael Oliveira is an R1 Researcher in Bioinformatics (Spatial Transcriptomics) at the NTNU Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, focusing on identifying responders to immune checkpoint inhibitors in small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) through computational methodologies. Previous roles include Bioinformatician & Software Development Manager at a start-up, where Rafael contributed to developing a minimum viable product for biomedical data insights, and Data Scientist at BrandDelta, emphasizing AI-driven solutions for market insights. Rafael's earlier experience includes a bioinformatics volunteer role at Universidade de Aveiro, working on Sars-CoV-2 variant identification, and a full-stack developer position at Learning2Trading, focusing on decision support systems for investments. Rafael is currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Technology at NTNU, with advanced degrees in Clinical Bioinformatics and Applied Statistics from Universidade de Aveiro, complemented by a strong academic foundation in Biology.
