Jon Edwards

Jon Edwards has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to business development and sales. Jon started their career in 1995 as a CMOS Image Sensor Applications Engineer at VLSI Vision Ltd., where they provided pre and post-sales support to customers using CMOS sensors and ISP chips.

In 1998, Jon joined STMicroelectronics as a Field Sales Engineer, where they closely worked with end customer design teams and grew sales revenue by 50%. Jon then moved to Sony in 2001, initially handling sales of Sony CCD image sensor products in European markets, before leading the marketing of CMOS image sensors and camera modules for European mobile phone opportunities. Jon played a crucial role in the development and launch of camera modules for various Sony handsets.

Jon then worked at CAP-XX as a Business Development Manager, where they successfully transferred CAP-XX's technology to high-volume consumer markets, especially in mobile phones. Jon also built a supporting ecosystem with key technology partners.

In 2009, Jon started their own consulting business, Inchgarvie Consulting, providing consulting services and professional mentoring to start-ups and high technology companies. Jon worked with clients such as Nanotecture and Cambridge Mechatronics.

Jon later rejoined Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd. in 2010, initially as the Global Sales Manager and then as the Director of Business Development. In this role, they played a vital part in developing CML as a high-volume technology provider to mobile phone cameras. Jon was responsible for customer relationships, requirements capture, and product definition.

Jon joined Optotune in 2017 as the VP of Business Development, where they had overall responsibility for sales, marketing, and ecosystems. Jon identified markets and opportunities and managed promotion and target accounts.

Most recently, Jon joined poLight in 2020 as the VP of Business Development. The details of their roles and responsibilities in this position are not provided.
