Letizia Tanca

Letizia Tanca is a full professor and currently serves as the Director of the Computer Science Section within the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB) at Politecnico di Milano, where tenure began in November 1998. Tanca holds extensive experience in academia, having previously held positions as an extraordinary professor at both Università di Verona and Università degli Studi di Bari, as well as an associate professor and university researcher at Politecnico di Milano. Tanca has also contributed to the field through membership on the Steering Committee of the Informatics Europe Department Evaluation Initiative since January 2011 and as a member of the executive board of Informatics Europe from 2005 to 2011. Tanca completed a Doctorate in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and holds a degree in Mathematics from the same institution. Early professional experience includes software design roles at Industrie FACE Standard - Alcatel and GTE - Siemens.
