Abby Smith is an accomplished data professional with a robust educational background, holding a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Statistics and Data Science from Northwestern University. As a Data Science for Social Good Fellow at the Data Science for Social Good Foundation, Abby developed a machine learning system to identify individuals at risk of homelessness in Pittsburgh, collaborating with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services.
