Patrick Caldwell

Patrick Caldwell is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in editorial roles across various publications. Currently serving as Senior Editor at POLITICO since May 2023, Caldwell previously held the position of Deputy Editor at The New Republic from September 2021 to April 2023. Prior to that, experience at Mother Jones included roles as News Editor, Associate Editor, and Reporter from October 2013 to September 2021. Caldwell also worked as a Writing Fellow at The American Prospect and as a Reporter for The American Independent. Early career highlights include serving as Editor-in-Chief of The Scarlet and Black, overseeing a fourteen-person editorial staff, and internship experiences at The New Republic and The Nation Institute. Caldwell holds a BA in Philosophy and Political Science from Grinnell College, earned in 2009.
