Jarrett Blankenship

Jarrett Blankenship has a long and varied work experience. Jarrett began their career in 2005 as a Senior Consultant at Protiviti, where they developed low-cost modeling systems for Risk Assessment and Application/Project Portfolio Management. In 2011, they joined Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP as a Senior Consultant, where they analyzed the strategy of non-profit human services organizations and recommended an electronic health record roadmap. At the same time, they also worked as an Assistant Editor for The Deli Magazine, where they wrote 3-4 articles per month and reviewed music from up and coming bands. In 2012, they joined Turner Broadcasting as a Systems/Software Developer, where they helped ensure high-quality video delivery in real-time during major live streaming events. In 2014, they became a Senior Product Manager at CNN, where they improved the profitability of CNN and streamlined time to market for new consumer features. In 2020, they joined ThoughtWorks as a Lead Product Manager and Product School as a Featured Speaker. In 2021, they became Director of Product Management at Suited, and in 2022 they became VP of Product at Polygon.io.

Jarrett Blankenship completed a Bachelor of Arts in Business Information Technology from Virginia Tech between 2002 and 2006. Jarrett also completed a degree in Decision Support Systems from Virginia Tech during the same time period. Jarrett has also obtained certifications from Coursera Course Certificates in Reviews & Metrics for Software Improvements, Agile Planning for Software Products, Client Needs and Software Requirements, Software Processes and Agile Practices, and Introduction to Software Product Management between March and June of 2016. Additionally, they have obtained a GIAC Certified Incident Handler from GIAC (SANS).
