Abhijit Vijay Salvekar, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience. Abhijit Vijay is currently the Co-Founder of Polymerize.io, a company that utilizes artificial intelligence to improve product development for polymer manufacturers. Prior to this, they were a Founder in Residence at Entrepreneur First, where they helped build startups from scratch and received funding from top investors. Dr. Salvekar also worked as a Product Development Researcher at AGC Chemicals Americas Inc., specializing in the development of fluoropolymers for various industries. Abhijit Vijay has also held positions as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, where they conducted research on drug-eluting ureteric stents, and as a PHD Researcher, where they developed biodegradable shape memory polymer-hydrogel composites for endovascular embolization. Additionally, Dr. Salvekar participated in the 131st BASF International Summer Course, gaining insights into the chemical industry. Their earlier experience includes roles as an R&D Executive at APPL Industries Ltd., a Summer Intern at the National Chemical Laboratory, and a Project Assistant at the same institution. Abhijit Vijay also completed an internship at TATA AutoComp Systems Ltd, where they gained knowledge of product designing and development in the automotive industry.

Abhijit Vijay pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Polymer Engineering from Maharashtra Institute of Technology, from 2006 to 2010. After that, they undertook a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Polymer Technology at Delhi College of Engineering, spanning from 2011 to 2013. Lastly, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and successfully completed it from 2014 to 2017.
