Loïc Cornelissen has a diverse work experience in both academia and industry. Loïc started their career as a Research Assistant at The University of Hong Kong in 2011. In 2012, they became a FRIA Research Fellow - PhD at Université catholique de Louvain and worked there until 2016. In 2015, they also served as a Research Intern at Hokkaido University. From 2016 to 2018, Loïc worked as an Upstream Chemist at PolyPeptide Group. Loïc then advanced to the position of Sales Manager, overseeing customer projects and custom manufacturing of peptide APIs in Europe. Currently, they are serving as an Associate Director Business Development at PolyPeptide Group.
Loïc Cornelissen earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Université catholique de Louvain in 2010. Loïc then pursued a Master's degree in Chemistry from the same institution, which they completed in 2012. Cornelissen continued their education at the Université catholique de Louvain and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry in 2016. In addition to their academic qualifications, they also hold certifications in Chemical Development & Scale-Up in the Fine Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industries from Scientific Update (obtained in 2016) and in the From Research to Business Program (FR2B) focusing on Entrepreneurship, Business plans, Marketing, Sales, Accounting, and Design Thinking (obtained in 2015).
