Akshay Shah

Akshay Shah has a long and varied work experience. Akshay began their career in 1993 as the CEO of Simba Plastics Co Ltd, where they increased business size through focus on B2B segment, new product development, organizational restructuring and acquisitions. Akshay then moved to the Sumaria Group in 2006, where they served as the Director of Group Strategy. In 2007, they joined Plaasteka as a Board Member, and in 2011 they joined Silafrica as the Group Executive Director and Group Managing Director. In 2018, they joined Wayout Intl AB as Co-Founder and Endeavor Kenya as a Board Member. In 2019, they co-founded Ponea Health. In 2021, they became the Board Chair of YPO Plastics Network. Throughout their career, Akshay Shah has been dedicated to responsible sustainable use of plastics in the industry and company.

Akshay Shah began their educational journey at International School of Tanganyika from 1978 to 1988 where they obtained an IB (International Baccalaureate) with a focus on Computers, Maths, Physics, Geography, English Literature, and French. Akshay then attended Rockford University from 1989 to 1993 and obtained a BA in MIS with a major in Management Information Systems and a minor in English Literature. Additionally, they are a Balanced Scorecard Certified Practitioner from Palladium: Strategy Consulting.
