John Leong

John Leong has a diverse and impactful work experience. John is currently serving as a Director on the Board of Directors for Alexander & Baldwin and Island Insurance Company. In 2008, they co-founded and became the CEO of Kupu, a Hawaii-based organization that provides programs to engage and employ young adults in conservation and sustainability jobs. Prior to that, they founded Pono Pacific in 2000 and served as the CEO to manage Hawaii's natural resources, develop sustainable land projects, and promote a diverse and sustainable economy for the islands.

John Leong attended The Wharton School, where they studied Environmental Policy and Entrepreneurial Management. John completed their education at this institution in the year 2000. Prior to that, they attended Punahou School until 1996, although the field of study for this period is unspecified. In addition to their academic qualifications, John Leong received several certifications including being an Obama Foundation Fellow in 2019, an Omidyar Fellow in 2015, and a Pacific Century Fellow in 2007.
