James R. Washington III

James Washington is a well-respected attorney and certified public accountant who has spent their career working in both the public and private sector. James is currently the General Counsel/Chief Financial Officer at Pontchartrain Partners, a position they have held since 2015. Prior to that, they were an attorney at Ajubita, Leftwich, and Salzer, L.L.C. from 2010 to 2014. During their time there they specialized in federal criminal, tax, and commercial litigation matters. From 2008 to 2010 they worked as a certified public accountant at Washington CPA Services, LLC where they prepared corporate and partnership federal, state, and local income tax returns. James began their career as a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service's Criminal Investigation division from 2002 to 2006. Judge Carl J. Barbier of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana then hired James as a law clerk from 2009 to 2010. In 2006 they also worked briefly for Ernst & Young as a tax professional focusing on corporate, partnership, and high income individual tax planning and preparation.

James R. Washington III has a Doctor of Law from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and a B.S. in Accounting from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge. James is certified as a public accountant in Louisiana and is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Louisiana.
