David G. Whalen

David G. Whalen is an Independent Director at POOLCORP. David was previously with Phoenix Footwear Group from September 2015 to June 2017 and A.T. CROSS COMPANY ( COSTA INC.) from January 1999 to December 2014. David has over 20 years of experience in successfully repositioning and re-engaging consumers with the Cross brand, creating a new product road map, and re-engineering the cost structure to maximize profit. David has also diversified the business through meaningful acquisitions, such as the Costa sunglass business and Native Eyewear. Under their leadership, the company has entered into the prescription sunglass market and sports apparel category, enhancing revenue and brand presence. In 2013, David initiated the sale of the company which resulted in shareholders receiving $21.50 per share or ~$300M.

David G. Whalen has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's Degree in Honors Economics from Trinity College-Hartford.
